I love small meals that involve variety and some assembly. Appetizer meals just seem more fun and festive than a boring ol' meal of bread/cold cuts/carrot sticks/pretzels. At night I'll make a meal of cheese-topped crackers and proscuitto-wraped melon and call it tapas instead of laziness!
So of course these little boxes of assembly-style goodness caught my attention. Practically jumped off the shelf into my basket. I could say it's like a "Lunchable" for grown-ups but that would just insult these healthy and delicious little lunches.
Right away I loved the idea, but also the size of the box and the design of the packaging. The pictures of the food are mouth-watering and the colors of green with red gingham check are reminiscent of a picnic table cloth, but it's the clean fonts and modern use of lowercase that makes it stand out to me. The front opens up with a neat perforation and then it can be used it as a table on your lap if you are actually outside at a park eating it...or it will help keep your office desk tidy as you work through lunch. It is the perfect amount of food and so much fun. Find their other varieties here: www.gopicnic.com. I bought mine at Target.
